LITERACY PROJECT SUPPORT WORKER

Funded by The Big Lottery Fund: 

The Bridge is looking to appoint a highly motivated individual to deliver an innovative package of literacy support to adults facing exclusion and barriers to progression as result of low level literacy skills. Experience within the field of adult literacy and a solution focussed approach to securing positive outcomes for participants is essential. Contracts are fixed term until June 2019

 

Hours of work: 30 hours per week 

Salary: full time equivalent £19,790

Benefits: 25 days plus bank/public holidays (FTE equivalent – to be pro rata); café on-site; flexible working

Location:    The Bridge

Reporting to:   The Learning & Participation Manager

Volunteer Coordinator (Engagement & Inclusion)

This role has been developed to ensure inclusive and productive volunteer involvement in all aspects of work carried out at the Bridge.  You will be responsible for recruitment, induction and supervision of volunteers into a range of roles within the centre, working closely with adults, many of whom are experiencing barriers to participation in mainstream learning and work activities. As a skilful team player you will coordinate volunteering activities and support our task supervisors (paid staff who work alongside volunteers) to ensure that volunteers leave having had a worthwhile and skills enhancing experience.

Hours of work:   21 hours per week 

Salary:    £24,500 FTE; £13,905 per year

Length of contract:  Initially for 1 year with possibility for extension

Benefits:  25 days plus bank/public holidays (FTE); café on-site; flexible working
