Volunteer Success

The Bridge welcomes Ben Poulton to the team.

Ben has been volunteering with us for a year and has been offered the chance to step up into a paid role of Operations and Events Assistant for a 12 week period.

Ben was refered to The Bridge through a confidence building course that he was taking at the time. He first made contact with Tony and Anne, before beginning his volunteering at the reception desk. During this time he has been growing in confidence, alongside taking various courses provided by The Bridge, and it became the right time for him to take this step up with us.

He says: "I was told about The Bridge volunteering scheme through a friend who said it would be a great place for me to gain confidence, new skills and open new doors.  So I decided to volunteer every week on reception.  Volunteering has been really good for my own personal development and my confidence has increased every week.  Everyone at the Bridge have been very friendly and supportive to me.  After about a year I have been offered a part time paid role of operations and events assistant.  I was really happy to accept this role and I am looking forward to developing even further."

We are very proud and excited to be able to offer Ben this opportunity to further his experience at The Bridge. He has been fantastic in assisting the needs of reception and now Ben will be using that experience to be part of the relationship between customer service and the business and event side of The Bridge. We hope this opportunity will allow him to strive even further and we all look forward to working with him.
