We have a wide range of creative, mindful, fun and free workshops - including family friendly ones.

Happiness & Mindful Creativity

Jul 24, Monday 10 am – 3 pm

This joyful and creative workshop explores a range of topics that help identify what thoughts, actions and choices lead to happier living. We will combine a range of creative activities with mindful awareness in a relaxed and friendly environment with lots of opportunities to have fun and learn to be in the moment.

Green Screen Workshop

Jul 24, Monday 10 am – 1 pm

Take photos in front of a green screen and replace it with any background. Do you want a photo with a celebrity? Or in an exotic place? The only limit is your imagination.

Decorative Paper Making

Jul 25, Tuesday 10 am – 3 pm

Beautiful, unique, textured and patterned decorative papers are fun and easy to make. Just blend recycled paper products and supplies you have around the house. You’ll need to bring an apron or similar, a rolling pin and a tea-tray to transport home any papers still wet at the end of the day. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome.

Stop Motion Workshop

Jul 25, Tuesday 10 am – 4 pm

Have fun and learn how to do short videos using photos. It’s the same technique used on Wallace & Gromit, Jason and the Argonauts, early Disney cartoons and The Matrix.

Moulsecoomb Forest Garden & Westlain Belt Walks

Jul 26 and Aug 2, Wednesdays 10 am – 12 noon

Come and improve your fitness and clear your mind with one of our guided walks. We’ll be looking at plants and trees, the eco system and the history of both woodlands and surrounding grasslands. The Moulsecoomb Forest Garden Walk (July 26) is a moderate forest walk, with a few slopes and the meeting point is at Moulsecoomb railway station. The Westlain Belt Walk (Aug 2) is an easier woodland, flat walk and the meeting point is at The Bridge. You will need boots or shoes with a good grip, a waterproof jacket and a bottle of water. Friendly dogs are welcome on these walks.

Bike Surgery

Create a Mandala

Jul 26, Wednesday, 10 am – 3 pm

We will be exploring the theme of Mandalas through art. Come and join this friendly group to explore simple artistic techniques and exercises like watercolour painting and felting in a safe and supportive environment, inspired by the natural world.

Theatre Royal Brighton Tour

Jul 27, Thursday, 10.30 am – 11.30 am

Theatre Royal is a masterpiece of theatrical architecture and now you can explore its history and hallowed backstage area by joining this special tour. You’ll discover the theatre’s ancient stage traps, underground stream and secret tunnel along with many details of its fascinating history. Access needs can be arranged in advance.

Gardening Workshops

Jul 28 & Aug 4, Fridays 10 am – 1 pm

Learn how to tame an overgrown garden and get it back under control. We will be working on the garden at The Bridge. We intend to cut the grass, dig the raised beds, get rid of weeds and replant the raised beds with herbs, salads and possibly some autumn crops. Get back to nature and find out how gardening can be very therapeutic and enjoyable.

IT Gadget Workshops

Drop in to find out more about how to use your smartphone, tablet and other gadgets.

Light Painting Workshop

Jul 31, Monday 10 am – 1 pm

Light painting is drawing with light. We’ll take a slow photo of you drawing or making shapes with lights to create amazing patterns.

Pottery Workshop

Jul 31, Monday 10 am – 12 noon

Explore texturing clay in creative ways and bring your own Brighton seafront scene to life whilst making a plate, plaque or small dish. Adults as well as accompanied children welcome! A £2 charge per person will apply to this workshop to help cover costs.

Exploring and Enhancing Wellbeing

Aug 1, Tuesday 10 am -1pm

How can we create positive effects on our wellbeing? Mind in Brighton & Hove deliver their Wellbeing in the City project with an interactive and creative workshop exploring Resilience and the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.

Sweet Making & Cake Decorating

Aug 1, Tuesday 10 am - 12 noon

Learn how to make tasty, quick and easy sweets and how to decorate cupcakes to surprise and delight your friends and family. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome.

Strictly Family Fun

Aug 3, Thursday 10 am - 11 am

Calling all mums, dads and grandparents! Partner up with your child and learn to dance to some great Latin rhythms. A fun and easy class for beginners. Join Kate for some strictly family fun!
