I am an internationally published fine art photographer with strong links to the Brighton photography community. I have been teaching for 5 years at City College. I hold a Certificate in Education as well as a MA in Design.

What do you do?

My name is Carol and I have taught Art since graduating from Art College more years ago than I care to remember.
Having left secondary school teaching I now work in the Adult Education sector which I find very fulfilling.

David Purkiss

What do you do?
I currently teach IT at the Bridge, Friends Centre, PACA and HaKIT. I teach IT courses so that my learners can cover the things they would like to do with computers and improve their IT skills, so they can achieve what they would like to during my courses.

Debbie Mallard

What do you do?

I've been involved with Adult Learning and Community Education for over 8 years both as course co-ordinator and in a learner support role.  I am a trained IAG worker and also hold  PTTLS and Counselling Skills qualifications.  I have a background in inclusive community work which I have been able to apply to my work in Adult Education.

My name is Deborah Burgess but I do work mainly under my maiden name of DT Forsdyke. I teach Stained Glass to new and intermediate students at various locations including City College and The Bridge.

What do you do?
I teach confidence and self esteem building tools in a variety of settings to a whole range of adult learners including learners with mental health problems.

After completing a First class degree under Raymond Briggs's tutelage and an MA, both in illustration and at Brighton University, I worked as a freelance illustrator for periodicals and newspapers, such as The Economist, The Independent and The Sunday Times for 18 years before discovering my passion for teaching and for ceramics.

I am a textile artist and tutor living in Brighton, East Sussex.Having worked through most of the traditional techniques I find I am drawn to experiment, layering techniques where I can.

Kitty Cava

I work as an art teacher and printmaker. Before teaching for Adult Education I was teaching Art in secondary education and running special printmaking workshops for younger children. As a fine Art printmaker I work both with painting and printmaking, and with subjects that I resonate with, all my work is developed from my own original paintings and drawings or photo’s.

I'm a classically trained pianist who has been giving piano lessons at The Bridge since 2003.

What do you do?

I am a music teacher and play gigs, have recorded cds of my own music and work with producers on film scores and tv music.

Sabine Dahn

What do you do?
I teach yoga in group classes and specialise in individual yoga therapy aimed at establishing a supportive home practice that addresses individual health concerns.

Sara Cook

What do you do?
Sara is a member of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles, British Quilt Study Group and Modern Quilt Guild. Sara Cook has been teaching Patchwork and Quilting for more than ten years and is a trained teacher who was graded ‘outstanding’ in a recent Ofsted inspection.

I have a love of all things creative including candle making and working with silver metal clay.   I enjoy teaching crafts to groups, at parties and also individually.  I believe students should have time to explore experiment and discover whilst learning and that it is an enjoyable and positive experience.
